Pampas Me You Will Let Me Outside To Play.

A cool but beautiful day in Kure Beach.  Pop opened the door and out I zoomed straight for the backyard. I love to thrash around in the pampas grass.  I run around the right side hiding from Pop.  Then I come tearing around the corner under the pampas grass leaves and whip across the yard to the pampas on the left side only to repeat myself whipping back across to the right.
What did you say? Faster than a speeding bullet........hmmm, you might say so!
In the meantime I did number 1 like a good dog; but, I held number 2 until I got back inside. Some days Pop just can't win for trying!!  Heh, heh!

What is your growth pattern?

I'm trying to get a feel of my comparative growth progress. First time at the Vet with my new family on January 25th, being 8 weeks old, I weighed 9.2 lbs. Second Vet visit on February 1st I was 10.4 lbs. Now on February 9th at Vets I'm 11.7 lbs. Apparently I'm growing about 1.2 lbs per week. Please give me feedback. How does this compare with my litter mates and/or other puppies out there? I think I'm a little on the light height & weight size compared to most of my litter mates anyway. Vet says not to worry, it is desireable in boxer pups to see a few ribs showing.

Learning my basic skills.

The day after I rode home (January 23rd) I learned to wobble up18 carpeted stair-steps. I have been practicing that upward steps routine until I now prance up.  The last two days I have slowly built up my courage and wobbled down three or four stairs at a time. Dog brother Bradley led the way, showed me how and gave encouragement while in Raleigh.  Now I'm back at K Largo (beach house) and I'm moving down all 18 steps with confidence. Not quite prancing yet; but, that will come.
Chow!

Ma/GranMaMa holds Rylan and Jasper on Sunday in Raleigh

Mom & Pops youngest family member grandson, Rylan, meets his first puppy, me (Jasper). I don't think he is quite sure how to handle it! I also met Mom/Pop's son Derek, Daughter-in-law Michelle, and Daughter Dale.  I've yet to meet immediate family members son Dan (Tequesta FL), Daughter Dawn (Charlotte NC) and dogs Cimba and Roxie (Bradley's sister).  Whew! A big family, huh?

Friday was a long day......gotta crash with Mom and Bradley.

If you don't have a Snuggle, a blanket will do.  Bradley says I wore him out playing. I'll never tell that I wore myself out playing.  I think Mom and Pop kinda know; but, I don't think anybody else does.

All Aboard for Raleigh, NC

OK Pop, I'm ready. All Aboard!
Yesterday, Pop asked me if I wanted to visit our Raleigh home for a long weekend and have a Super Bowl party. Of course I said yes, yes, yes. After all I'm use to traveling like from Brunswick, GA to Kure Beach, NC and to the Vet. Ughhh..why did I have to say V--!  I just can't bring myself to say that again.
Anyway, I let Pop drive so I could sleep and play safely in my crate. I always take my crate on overnight trips. Kind of like a trailer, huh! That way I always have my familiar safe haven where I rule.
Made the trip ok. Caught up with that big brother, Bradley, of mine.  He, He, He, he doesn't know how short his life is a "big brother". He better keep on liking me because I'll be his big brother in no time.  Ssssh, don't tell him. I want it to be a surprise.

Surprise, surprise!  I was the one surprised when Bradley introduced me to snow. Yep, Raleigh still had snow from last weekend. It is all nothing but white though. It doesn't have the character of different colors such as brendle, black and white like me.

Bradley says to go ahead and taste it. It won't hurt you. Just be sure to leave the yellow snow alone!    I didn't ask him what he meant by that; however, I think I have a pretty good idea.

A Brother I didn't Know I had!

A Brother I didn't Know I had came to visit for the Weekend. He introduced himself with a little bit of jealously. I took care of that right away by pestering him unmercifly. Oh, BTW, his name is Bradley a minature schnauser. I'll show him what minature really is when I grow past him to 70 lbs compared to his 25 lbs.
I immediately took over his bed and his toys. Isn't that what a boxer supposed to do? Hmmmm, his bed is so good after  a session of heavy play.
